Tiny Dancer...

This week Ruby participated in a princess themed ballet camp. She has been having a great week at camp and I am so in love with this little dancer. Her final performance is tomorrow, so a picture overload will probably be coming soon. I hope over the years that she grows to love dancing as much as I did.

Snip, Snip...

I feel like Ruby is quickly running out of "firsts." Today Ruby got her first haircut. To be honest, she was born with hardly any hair and I never thought her hair was actually going to grow long enough to need a haircut. Over the past few months she has grown a wild looking mullet, so it was time to get a little trim. One of my best friends has been doing our hair for years, so Ruby was excited for Lucy to cut her hair. On the way there she excitedly said, "Am I going to get a snip snip?" It was priceless. Ruby was such a big girl and didn't shed a single tear. I took too many pictures and held back some happy tears. I even got to take a lock of her hair for her baby book... I couldn't resist. I was so proud of my little peanut!

My Coffee Date...

Ruby and I went out for "coffee" this morning. She enjoyed a strawberry smoothie and a blue frosted sugar cookie with sprinkles, while I sipped on some cold iced tea. We talked about life and she admired some paintings of silly monsters on the coffee shop wall. We people watched and Ruby showed off a little by dancing in her chair to the mellow music. It was a great little summer morning date!

Red, White, and Blue...

On July 3rd we attended the College Home Run Derby and fireworks. This was Ruby's first trip to a baseball stadium and she seemed to enjoy all of the festivities. It was a very hot, yet fun night filled with cotton candy, snow cones, a wedding on home plate, and the most beautiful fireworks I have ever seen. There is something magical about fireworks and no matter how old I get, I will still sit and watch them in awe.

The next day was the 4th... which is a pretty big deal in our house. Scott is officially obsessed with this holiday. This fourth of July was no different than every other holiday... nonstop. Holidays are always so busy, sometimes it's hard to relax and really enjoy the moment. We started the day swimming and grilling at my mom and dad's. Ruby enjoyed hanging out in the pool with her cousins and eating red, white, and blue cupcakes. A short while later we headed to Scott's sister's house for their annual Fourth of July bash. Ruby had a great time with her two cousins and enjoyed watching fireworks. She even got to help her dad light some fireworks. Overall, it was a wonderful day!

Water Bug...

Ruby loves water. Any form of water...

splashing in puddles...

     swimming in the pool...

          running through a sprinkler...

               splashing in the sink...

                    catching raindrops on her tongue...

and her most favorite of all:

                              taking a bath!

I think she might be part water bug, a cute water bug though...
