6 Days...

In six day I will marry my best friend. I feel like there has been so much preparation all for this one day, but all of the stress and worry will be worth it. My only hope is that the day goes by slow enough so we can enjoy and take in every single moment!

Hello, Goodbye...

Tomorrow I go back to work as a second grade teacher. My summer is officially over. I love teaching, but the end of summer is always so bittersweet.

Hello early mornings.

Hello lesson plans.

Hello Diet Coke addiction.

Hello trying to wake up Ruby each morning.

Hello having to dress up every day.

Hello dramatic colleagues.

Hello painful shoes.

Hello twenty-five smiling (hopefully) second graders.

Hello late night school events.

Hello funny things kids say.

Hello staff meetings.

Hello missing Ruby during the day.

Hello feeling stressed and tired all the time.

Hello school year.

Goodbye wearing yoga pants all day.

Goodbye late nights.

Goodbye swimming all day with Ruby.

Goodbye weekly trips to the zoo.

Goodbye working out every day.

Goodbye afternoon naps.

Goodbye morning story time at the library.

Goodbye homemade breakfast.

Goodbye random morning shopping trips.

Goodbye relaxation.

Goodbye spending the days outdoors.

Goodbye flip flops.

Goodbye sanity.

This makes me laugh...

Tuesday Morning...

Tuesday morning is going to be a real slap in the face. After a seemingly short summer with Ruby, I am back to my 2nd grade teacher gig. I still feel like I need a few more weeks of summer to do all of the fun things I wanted to do with my little lady. I feel so lucky to have a job that allows me to spend two and a half uninterrupted months with my child. Summer is my time to catch up on all of the little things I miss out on during the stressful school year. As a fun way to end our summer break Scott and I decided to take Ruby fishing yesterday. Although we only caught algae, she had an absolute blast. It was the perfect way to end another amazing summer.

This prompted her to ask if Santa could bring her a pony...

Before and After...

I can't believe how fast this summer has flown by. One thing we HAD to do this summer was remodel our bathroom. Last week Scott's brother-in-law pretty much gutted our whole bathroom. It was in bad... very bad shape before he got a hold of it. It was so bad in fact that I am almost embarrassed to show the "Before" pictures. We still have some finishing touches to do and we need to add a pretty splash of color to the walls, but here it is:

Before:

After:

I love subway tile!

New tile flooring to replace the vinyl flooring.
