Update...
It's been a while since I have posted any updates. I have been busy working, taking care of Ruby, and getting ready for our new addition, Violet. It's hard to believe that in less than seven weeks, we will have another little girl in the house. She is kicking away as I type this... the best feeling in the world. I'm feeling much more prepared with this second baby than I felt before Ruby was here. I have had such an easy pregnancy so far and I'm crossing my fingers that these final weeks are stress free. If only I could finish getting this house organized. Let the countdown begin.
Ruby has been her silly and crazy self. She is full of giggles and funny sayings. Some of my favorites lately: "Mom, give it a rest!" "I love my whole family," "Who is going to be that baby's mommy?" "That's perfect!" "Two thumbs up." and finally "Your tummy is too full."
I have been trying hard to spend as much time with Ruby as possible. I know having a new baby in the house is going to be a huge adjustment and I already feel mommy guilt when I am too tired to do some of the fun things with Ruby. I know she will be fine and it will probably be a lot harder on me than it will be on her. I have some fun Ruby-Mommy dates planned in the next couple of weeks for us to spend some quality time before Violet arrives.

Christmas Recap...
This is a couple weeks late, but here is our Christmas recap. We had a wonderful time soaking in all of the festivities with our families.
My favorite moments from Christmas 2012:
Ruby panting like a dog with excitement when we drove around to look at lights... or decorations, as she likes to call them.
When she woke up Christmas morning, the first thing she said when she saw all of the presents, "Santa is soooo nice!"
My first time making Christmas Eve dinner for my family, we feasted on our families traditional potato bologna.
Decorating delicious sugar cookies. Ruby insisted on putting lots of sprinkles on them.
Cuddling on the couch and watching Christmas movies with my two loves.
Waking up every morning and helping Ruby find the silly Elf.
Beautiful Christmas music.
Taking Ruby sledding for technically the first time and watching her giggle each time she would fly down the hill on her purple sled.
Seeing her play with all of her cousins on Christmas.
Sleeping in almost every day...
Enjoying all of the snowy days by staying warm inside and baking.
Seeing the beautiful smile on Ruby's face when she saw her little trampoline by the Christmas tree.
Going downtown to see the festival lights and enjoying ice cream together.
Taking Ruby to see the Madeline's Christmas performance.
It really is the best time of the year!

Baby Violet...
We decided on a name for our new baby girl. Violet. I thought since we already have a Ruby, we better just stick to the color theme with our girls. I am foreseeing a lot of purple baby clothes in our future.
So far this pregnancy has been a breeze (knock on wood). I was absolutely terrified when I found out we were expecting because of my multiple sclerosis scares recently. I honestly haven't felt this good in quite a while. I'm hoping it stays this way. The only thing I have struggled with is fatigue. By the end of the day teaching a class full of second graders, I am utterly exhausted. When I get home from work all I want to do is relax, but my mommy duties are always calling me. It's very hard to take care of a three year old while pregnant. I know it will all be worth it in the end.
Ruby is getting very excited to have a sister. Each time we are out shopping, she would rather pick out stuff for the baby than for herself. She still can't quite wrap her head around the fact that I am going to be this baby's mommy too. :) I think she is going to be a great big sister.
In 4 short months we will meet our little Violet (Wow, I have a lot to do before then).
We love her already.
